It seems we were doing the same thing at the same time--mine's on the next page--but I'm fine with your letter.

I'd skip the "valued members" part. Corporate and icky. And I think we should use this opportunity to solicit interest.

OK, so William wrote Isaac (thanks William) and Sherrill says she'll do a mailing to the general memebership (thanks Sherrill), so let's decide what the mailing should say, assuming that we get a SC vote to cancel.

A first draft:

Dear Downtown Neighborhood Association Member,

Due to some mistakes made by the Steering Committee, there will be no September DNA meeting. We're sorry about this, and we're disappointed too, because we were planning to invite some of the top brass at the Eugene Police Dept, and we also wanted to get started on planning some events downtown, especially for the upcoming holiday season.

We'll do all this at the October meeting, but in the meantime, we can get started on planning downtown events. If you'd like to get involved, or you have ideas for this holiday season, let {somebody} know. Or post your ideas on the Eugene DNA website, eugeneDNA.org. {we should start a discussion thread for this}

I like this letter.

I just typed up the email addresses for those who attended the August meeting. I can use that list, my neighborhood list and, of course, the SC.

So just tell me when.
