The Downtown Neighborhood Association

I will be out of town (visiting my newest grandson in AZ) on the date of the next Steering Committee meeting. Our options are to hold the meeting on the first Monday as usual and have someone else take the minutes, or hold the meeting after I return, anytime on Feb 19 or after.

I see no problem holding the meeting on Feb 19th. We can do it at my place if we want to. - Will
Hope it's okay for me to butt in. I attended your 1/15 meeting and today a letter of mine re LTD cutbacks appeared in the Register-Guard. Would like to attend your next Steering Committee meeting. Will be checking this website for date/place. Do you alert interested parties? If so, my email is sylviah@efn.org
I thought the RG letter might have been you. You are welcome to attend our meeting. I'll try to alert you about a week ahead, but if my travel gets in the way, check the website.
Thanks for the acknowledgment. Glad you saw the letter. I'm learning (not too confidently) how to navigate this website but would certainly appreciate an alert if it's not too much trouble. Look forward to participating in the DNA.
Sylvia,

Congrats on the RG letter! I hope it's OK to post it on our website--I'll delete it if you want. I've been meaning to start a discussion about this, but I was really sick all of last week and I'm still catching up.

BTW, Sherrill, yes, the 19th is fine. (And congrats to you too!) And Charles, can you maybe delete or archive or whatever some of the old discussions on the top page?
Just so we can get started thinking about this: What's on our plate for February/March? Round 2 of transit cuts? More on parking? Update for the WG project? Third Friday programming? Representation on other downtown-oriented groups or agencies? Info on how being moved from P&D to the City Manager is going to affect us as a neighborhood group? The ever-popular "public safety zone"?
Here's my proposed agenda for Feb 19th SC Meeting:

Old Business
- Minutes of Last GM
- Review "Input" Forms from Last Meeting
New Business
- Committee/Attendee comments, proposals for GM agenda items, including Derek Brandow's proposal to discuss the possibility of a High School Downtown as a DNA agenda item.
- General Comments
Set Agenda for March DNA Meeting
- Theme: How to start a business downtown? Specifically, what is the process of applying for loans from the city, what kinds of loans are available. I have approached Amanda Nobel (city employee involved with the loan process) and she is willing to attend March meeting. I'd like to possibly invite a business owner who has taken advantage of these loans (Lazar from Shoeaholic?)

Ok, this is what I've got so far. Please feel free to comment, suggest, or amend. My personal email is willatcdw@gmail.com

Thanks and see you all on Thursday 2/19.
